These are dynamic times for REALTORS®. The regulatory landscape is shifting, and the market is more volatile than it has been for some time. The best strategy for coping and succeeding in this environment is a strong offence—and that starts with Professional Development, the cornerstone of a REALTOR’s strength.
Membership and Education provides the tools and resources to ensure that our members not only meet new education requirements to maintain membership in good standing, but to exceed them with offerings that anticipate an evolving workplace. Whether it’s staying current on updated education requirements introduced by the new regulator, managing the costs and fees of running a business, or adapting to changes in industry policies and regulations such as the Home Buyer Recission Period, members look to the Board for guidance.

This year we welcomed the return to in-person sessions as we introduced hybrid learning programs—in-person, zoom webinars, self-paced online—to accommodate the full range of members’ learning styles and to fit their busy personal and professional schedules.
We worked with IT experts to create and launch Cyber-Security Essentials, a timely, new—and free—offering to give members practical strategies to deal with the real and growing threat of online security and privacy issues.
We also introduced three new PDP-accredited courses in response to marketplace needs: Introduction to Urban Planning and Land Development for REALTORS®, Know Your Product: House Systems, and Land Assembly & Development: The Basics; along with a new self-directed lab course: Value Added Apps & Tools for your Business.
Plus, we onboarded 516 new members to the FVREB family. And our commitment to these members is just as firm as it is to our entire membership: to prepare them for a long and successful career in an increasingly vital profession.
